Wedding Ceremony...

As the wedding music started Crystal’s Mother and my mother walked down to light the candles. I was sitting backstage with Pastor David and best man John Heuglin. I was just waiting with anticipation to see my beautiful bride walk down the aisle. At this point I haven’t seen her in 15 hours. Also, I have not seen her in the dress or seen the dress at all. That moment was a moment I have thought about all of my adult life. Never really knowing what I would be feeling and thinking at that time and moment. I didn’t have cold feet. However, I was sitting there thinking that this day came so quick and I could not believe that I was getting ready to walk out to thee alter to meet my beautiful bride. As Pastor Curtis and the Band started playing “Broken Road” Pastor, John, and I walked out to the front the stage/alter.

I stood there as the rest of the wedding party walked down the aisle. Everyone was looking so beautiful even the guys…ok they were looking handsome. As they got into their position and the little ones walked down the aisle making it the cutest thing I have ever seen. Little Gavin (Crystal’s Nephew) and Little Ella (Josh Martin one of the groomsman’s daughter) made it very special. It was so cute to see Ella stop to play with the Rose Petals on the ground. It melted my heart. As everyone got in place I was just so overwhelm already. Now the big moment, the moment in which every bride lives for. That moment when the Bride walks down the aisle to meet her groom.

As the curtain opened I just could not believe what I was seeing. I mean she already is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. However, she became even more beautiful as a bride. Why? Well, because she was my Bride. I took everything I hold back my tears. All I could do was think to myself, “WOW! How lucky am I?” When she got up the alter I had to look away. Her beauty was too much for me to handle. Looking her in the eyes made me weak at the knees. As her father gave me her hand I began to shake a little bit. Knowing that she was about to me my wife and it would be the last time I would ever hold her hand again as my fiancĂ©e. Her walking down the aisle is truly a Walk I Will Remember.

We walked up to the platform as Pastor David finished reading the opening presentation. We stood there as Pastor started with the wedding vows. This was simple; it was time for us to say the words I do. Now, at this time I actually was thinking, “I hope she says I do.” For some reason a little bit of doubt went there as if I didn’t know how much she loved me. We said our “I do’s” and it was to repent the vows of love and commitment to one another. Now, I have been holding in my tears this whole time. I have claimed my nerves down for the past few hours. So when it was time to repeat the vows to Crystal I just lost it. Looking into her eyes saying, “I Daniel take thee Crystal, to be my lawfully wedded wife” That did it for me; I could not hold my tears anymore. As soon as I busted; it was dominos. Everyone in the whole church including Crystal busted out with tears. As we finished our vows it was time for the rings. Pastor praying over the rings was very special.

Crystal and I are very committed, not only to each other but to our Lord and Christ, Jesus. We wanted him to be a part of this wedding. Which is why we started off with Praise and Worship, a Drama production, communion, preaching and why we picked a day like 7/7/7 to have our wedding. Basically, we wanted a church service in the middle of our wedding. So as we took communion together we wanted Pastor David to preach. Preach about who we are what we believe in and that we will not compromise the Word of God just to please our fiends and family during our wedding ceremony. As Pastor David preached he hit it out of the ball park. It was powerful, seeing and hearing people stand up and shout, “Amen!” and “Hallelujah!” was awesome. We moved on to the lighting of the Unity Candle as we played a slideshow presentation. It was a slideshow that showed us through the years with family and friends and ministry work. During the slideshow Pastor whispered something to me and Crystal that we would never ever forget. He said, “This is the best wedding I have seen or been a part of, Thank you so for allowing me to be a part of your wedding.”

The Slideshow was over and it was time for the pronouncement. Pastor said some very special words to us that only he could say. He had our friends and family pray over us. Now it was time for the big moment. The moment as Pastor Said, “Daniel for the moment you have been waiting for.” However, as Pastor said those words I got to see exactly how lucky I am. Crystal was driving in for the kiss. Everyone went crazy. Pastor David just couldn’t stop laughing. So this time he said, “Now, Crystal for the moment you have been waiting for, Daniel you may now kiss the bride.” I laid one on her as the New Vision Band and Choir began to sing “Shabach” a Praise and Worship song.

We celebrated and praised the Lord as we walked down the aisle. What made our wedding so special was how many people came up to us afterwards and said that it was the best wedding they have ever seen. So many people said they were touched by our wedding. The wedding opened the doors for so many people to get connected to God. God is so good and is faithful. When you keep God first in your life and make him the center of your wedding you will see God move in so many ways.

God has truly blessed me and Crystal so far in our wedding. And he is just getting started.
